How to mirror your Mac to Chromecast or Google TV
Show your whole Mac display on the TV — presentations, photos, browsing — straight from the menu bar. No browser tab, no cables, nothing to install on the TV.
Why not just use Chrome?
Chrome can cast a browser tab, but casting your whole desktop from Chrome means keeping the browser running, and your Mac's system sound usually doesn't come along. AirPlay, built into macOS, only works with Apple TV and AirPlay-compatible TVs. Relayo mirrors your entire Mac display to any Chromecast or Google TV, with sound, from the menu bar.
Mirror your Mac in 4 steps
- Connect to the same Wi‑Fi as your TV.
- Open Relayo from your Mac's menu bar. Your TV appears in the device list by itself.
- Click your TV and choose Mirror screen. The first time, macOS asks for Screen Recording permission — allow it, then reopen Relayo.
- Your display appears on the TV within a few seconds. Your Mac is muted while casting so you don't hear everything twice.
Good to know
- Mirroring runs about two to three seconds behind — great for video, presentations and photos, not for gaming.
- Quality adapts to your Wi‑Fi automatically.
- Relayo keeps your Mac awake while casting and reconnects on its own if Wi‑Fi drops.
- Works on macOS 14 or later.
